Introducing Basd Body Care

Introducing Basd Body Care

A few weeks ago, I had the honour of attending True Beauty Talk, hosted by The Truth Beauty Company in Toronto. This event included a full day of beauty panels, with talks from nine industry trailblazers who are disrupting the natural beauty industry. These passionate individuals really broke down the effects that conventional beauty brands have not only on our skin but on the environment, which truly was an eye opening experience.

Since attending the event, I have slowly but surely started to swap my conventional beauty products for more greener and environmentally friendly alternatives. While this isn't something that will happen overnight, I definitely am proud of the progress that I've made so far.

During the event, attendees were also introduced to a number of green beauty brands, both local and international, which was amazing because we were able to see how many brands there are in the natural beauty space. And believe me, there's a lot!

One of the brands I really got to connect with was Basd Body Care. The recently launched, Toronto-based body care company was started by Ashley Meston and Phil Lebeau, who are without a doubt two of the kindest and most passionate individuals I have ever met. They're both real and honest, which are some of the qualities that their incredible body care line is based upon.

What I love about Basd, is that they're totally transparent about what goes into their products, so you're never left wondering what you're actually putting on your skin. They use plant-based and organic ingredients, they're non-GMO and paraben-free, and most importantly, they only test their products on consenting humans!

Now for the fun stuff... The products! Basd's body care lineup is phenomenal and after one use of each product, I was completely hooked. Here's why...

Their product lineup includes two amazing scents, that actually leaves your mouth-watering... seriously. The smells include Invigorating Mint, which I love to use first thing in the morning because it really wakes up your senses. The second scent is Indulgent Crème Brûlée, which smells exactly as it sounds... like a freshly baked Crème Brûlée. YUM! Each scent is available in three products: a coffee body scrub, body wash, and a body lotion.

Organic Coffee Scrub

The organic coffee scrub is definitely one of my favourite Basd products. It gently buffs away dead skin, leaving your skin feeling incredibly soft (and smelling great). The formula also helps to reduce the appearance cellulite, and it improves the look of acne scars. Seriously, what more could you want!? The scrub is made with organic coffee grounds, which helps to reduce puffiness, sea salt for exfoliation, and organic sweet almond oil and vitamin E, which help to hydrate your skin.

Body Wash

Once you're finished with the coffee scrub, I highly recommend using the Basd body wash. The main reason why I love this body wash is because I actually know what the ingredients are, unlike so many conventional beauty products. The first ingredient is organic aloe vera, which helps to moisturizes and tone the skin. The second ingredient is green tea, which helps to calm and nourish the skin. And finally, the third ingredient is natural essential oils, which helps stimulate and awaken your senses. AMAZING!

Body Lotion

Finally, to complete the full Basd process, use the body lotion for instantly softer skin. The Basd body lotion is light, silky-smooth, and keeps your skin feel hydrated for hours. The body lotion is made with organic virgin coconut oil and organic shea butter, which helps to soften the skin and reduce puffiness, and organic aloe vera and organic sunflower oil which work to leave your skin feeling velvety smooth.

While Basd Body Care is still new in the natural beauty game, I know that they're not going to slow down anytime soon. Make sure to check out their website or show them some love on Instagram so you can stay up-to-date with what they're up to.
